The eyes of this curious trilobite, evolved to live in deep waters, with remaining light. They have thousands of eye lenses (ocella) distributed in a ball-like shape, allowing vision in almost 360° degrees. A singular beauty of Ordovician seas.
It is extremely rare to get complete freestanding specimens from El Kaid Errami quarries. Nevertheless, we manage to pick and prepare this one in the beautiful display now presented. A specimen deserving a special place in a top collection.

The quarrying of rare species like these ones is a hard work in the mountain, breaking and digging hard layers of old rocks, sometimes in tunnels and galleries several meters deep. Knowing where to find these specimens and taking them from the mountain as intact as possible needs skills accessible to a few people and inherited from generations of Berber diggers at Anti-Atlas Mountains.
